About the speaker:
Rahat was born in Bangladesh and emigrated to the United States at the age of 8. He went onto graduate from New York University's Stern School of Business, after which he joined Prince Street Capital and invested throughout emerging and frontier markets with a focus on emerging technologies. There, he also started covering Bangladesh, leading their investments in the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
In 2016, he helped seed Pathao, Bangladesh’s #1 superapp, in what would become his first engagement with the country's startup ecosystem. Previously, he also co-founded a virtual reality startup for professional sports and was the primary strategist at a healthcare non-profit. Anchorless Bangladesh is a New York-based venture capital fund that's solely focused on investing in Bangladeshi startups. Since launch, they’ve made investments in various key sectors, including education, fintech, logistics and healthcare.
