Tackling Time, Making a Name for Bangladeshi Founders
Hear from Syam Anupom founder of TimeTackle (YC W21) on his experience building the company and graduating from Y Combinator.
Syam Anupom started his career as one of the first employees in trippetlabs, a maker of mobile applications and games, where he helped build out their operations in Bangladesh. The company would go onto be double acquired and become a part of Disney. During this time, he made his way to America, doing graduate studies from the famed University of Illinois Computer Science department and eventually working in Netflix. While there, a calendar analytics tool he designed to help manage his schedule ended up going viral. Having achieved a U$100K ARR on the company as a side hustle, he decided to go full-time at TimeTackle and run the venture. Recently he completed a stint at the Winter 2021 batch of Y Combinator, where he was one of three companies with Bangladeshi-origin founders, alongside Measured and ContentFly.
In this webinar, we trace Syam’s journey to creating TimeTackle, his advice to founders on leveraging content and SEO to drive growth in the early days, his experience with Y Combinator and how more Bangladeshi startups can position themselves to get into globally prestigious startup programs like YC. International startups are having a moment in Y Combinator, with half of recent investments coming from outside US, especially those from India, Pakistan, Latin America and Africa. What will it take for Bangladeshi startups to do the same?
