Praava Health: Building a Consumer First Healthcare Company
Episode 3 | Women Startup Leaders Series
Imagine coming back to your ancestral land after a lifetime building a career in some of the most prestigious legal, policy and development institutions in America and globally, in order to build a healthcare company from scratch in a country where less than 1% of the people have access to health insurance and there is universal distrust of the health system, to the point where 1000s are leaving abroad every day just to obtain healthcare. Sylvana Q. Sinha did exactly that, building Praava Health to change the healthcare conversation in Bangladesh as a mission-driven company since 2014. The company has recently announced its Series B fundraise and has been one of the vanguards against Covid in the country. Hear from her on her journey on becoming a technology entrepreneur, validating assumptions, choosing an integrated, "brick-and-click" model from the start, fundraising for a capital intensive integrated model as a first time entrepreneur, delivering a “Disney-like” experience for consumers, among others. This is Episode 3 of our Women Startup Leaders podcast series by BA Women.
